CONSECUTIVE INTERPRETATION OR TRANSLATION

Consecutive interpretation is also known as consecutive translation, and it is performed when the speaker pauses his speech, granting the interpreter the time required to insert his interpretation, i.e. he performs it consecutively.

That is an interpretation method suitable for a small audience, e.g. a meeting, factory visits, small training sessions, negotiations, lunches, etc.

INTERMITTENT INTERPRETATION

An alternative to Consecutive Interpretation or Translation, indicated for meetings with few participants, negotiations, lunches and other less formal occasions. Here the professional undertakes to translate both the origin language and that of destination, fitting in his speeches when the speakers pause. That modality is also referred to as “sentence-by-sentence” or “ping-pong”.

It is an intermediary solution, and an interesting one at that for many reasons, particularly in terms of cost.

SIMULTANEOUS INTERPRETATION OR TRANSLATION.

Simultaneous Translation services, also called Simultaneous Interpretation or still Conference Interpretation, differ from Consecutive Interpretation as to the following aspects:

Translators-interpreters, in that case, are trained to acquire the skill of transmitting their speeches simultaneously with the original speeches, i.e. in real time, which requires a skill beyond the mastery of the languages involved, i.e. fast thinking, flexibility to deal with unforeseen events in a natural manner, and skills in narration techniques.

The nomenclature “interpretation" refers to the additional skills acquired by the translators dedicated to this modality, where even the skill to adapt your tone and breathing to that of the speaker is much appreciated, since it helps to emphasize the meaning of the speeches and intentions with which they were originally created and transmitted.

SOUND PRODUCTION FOR

SIMULTANEOUS INTERPRETATION

Another important aspect of this modality is the audio support required. These are the cabins that have acoustic isolation, to be provided at the venue, with reception channels of the original sound and transmitters for the speeches translated into the headphones distributed among the audience, thus ensuring integrity and quality, both of the sound heard by the interpreters and that transmitted by them.

Another innovation we have been providing to our clients are headphones equipped with infrared, which improve reception and are more comfortable to use.

We can also supply the booths, sound tables and speakers, in case there is no ambient sound at the event, as well as headphones to be distributed among the audience and lapel wireless microphones to the speakers. The technician responsible for the setting things up can remain available whenever required.

WHISPERING OR SUSURRATION

INTERPRETATION

An adaptation of Interpretation or Simultaneous Translation for very small groups. In that modality, the interpreter sits behind or beside the speakers, simultaneously whispering them the translation.

Depending on each case, we could also use a portable sound equipment, quite small and practical, to ensure a work with better quality.
